Completed in 2015, the M2SEC and LEEP2 Engineering Expansions provide modern research facilities.

Group Work Spaces

1550 M2SEC -Biomaterials Laboratory: (M. Detamore [principal]/ S. Gehrke/A. Paul shared space) 2000 ft2 wet lab fully equipped for biomaterials synthesis and characterization. Within the main lab are two tissue culture labs (200 ft2 each, both with 2 biosafety cabinets, sink and resin countertops and cabinets) and an autoclave room (100 ft2). The main lab includes 4 6 ft fume hood, snorkel hood, 4 sinks, 160 linear feet of resin countertop space, wall and bench cabinets, 10 linear feet of desk space, and full utilities, including plumbed-in RO water and a Millipore 'Milli-Q' ultrapure water system.

1520 M2SEC- Materials Characterization Laboratory: (S. Gehrke [principal]/M. Detamore/P. Dhar shared space) 1800 ft2 wet lab for synthetic materials synthesis and characterization.  Includes two 6 ft fume hoods, 2 sinks, resin countertops, wall cabinets and full utilities.

1512 M2SEC – Cold Room: (shared space) 80 ft2 temperature and humidity controlled room (by Norlake Scientific) lab for experiments that need to be performed at temperatures below ambient, typically 4°C.

1514 M2SEC – Warm Room: (shared space) 80 ft2 temperature and humidity controlled room (by Norlake Scientific) lab for experiments that need to be performed at temperatures above ambient, typically 37°C.

1510 M2SEC – Meeting Room: (shared space) 240 ft2 conference room adjacent to labs for research meetings.

1530 M2SEC – Meeting Room: (shared space) 300 ft2 conference room with full AV system adjacent to labs for research meetings.
